One of the World's busiest Swing dance teachers, Valerie has a reputation for her finesse, enthusiasm, and athleticism on the dance floor. She emphasizes musicality and connection regardless of the style of swing.
She and the folks at Get Hep Swing teach at locations all over the Greater Cleveland area. They also host three monthly (open to the public) swing dances with live bands and a FREE Jitterbug lesson for beginner dancers.
She is the 2008 International Balboa Champion with Jacob Wigger from Los Angeles and also the 2008 Inter-National Balboa Champion with Jonas Petersson from Stockholm, Sweden.
Since 2002 Valerie has taken home the 2003 National Jitterbug Championships (NJC) Grand Slam Championship, became both the 2004 NJC Balboa Champion and the 2004 American Lindy Hop Championship (ALHC) American Showcase Champions and most recently, (in 2005) she returned to ALHC to place 2nd in the same competition.
